We get asked this question a lot. We do not buy secondary market pieces. Secondary market is the used market where collectors buy sell or trade pieces that have been previously owned. We specialize in brand new product, even the retired pieces we have are brand new and were never displayed. These usually come form stores that have gone out of business.
If you want to sell something you have there are several options. Sell on-line through an auction service like E-Bay or Yahoo. Currently it's a buyer's market and items sell for much less than book value on these auctions, but you will almost certainly sell it. One of the challenges for buyers of on-line auctions is fraud and misrepresentation of items. Unless it's a reputable dealer it really is buyer beware. This has had a negative effect on all collectibles not just EKJ when it comes to the selling price on-line.
Second is letting other EKJ collectors know what you have. There is also a wonderful group of dedicated EKJ fans who have their own newsgroup. These folks are always looking for that something sepcial and you just might have it. Their link is also under the EKJ Information section, just click the UP tab on the left.
Finally the best way is to usually simply sell it locally. You can take out a classified ad in your local paper and you'd be surprised at how many EKJ collectors live right near you. Because they can see the piece before they buy it you are likely to get a more fair price for your item.
